1. Does K12 Computers take all equipment or just the valuable technology?
K12 Computers can organize, pack, and pick up all surplus electronic equipment. More than 89% of districts interviewed preferred to have an all-in-one solution rather than using multiple vendors to handle recycling and reselling. We handle all equipment and give the district payouts on both resellable and recyclable equipment.
2. How long does it take to get paid for the material?
K12 Computers has multiple payment timelines. Listed surplus equipment can be quoted and paid upfront before pickup. Mixed equipment can be handled through logistics, sorting, data deletion, testing, and payout timelines of 1-2 weeks for as-is value, 5-8 weeks for fair market value, or 9-12 weeks for net revenue share.
3. What Type of Reporting does K12 Computers Provide? Do you Delete All Data?
K12 Computers provides Receiving Reports, Audit Reports, Data Deletion Certifications, Shipment Summaries, Purchase Orders, Impact Reports, and custom reports by request. All data is deleted in compliance with NIST 800-88 guidelines using third-party verified software.
4. What if we can't receive cash payouts? What other option does K12 Computers offer?
Payments by certified check and ACH are common, but funds can also be applied to new devices, device repair, cybersecurity services, or other lifecycle management services. K12 Computers can also work with a district's representatives to help procure new devices from the preferred vendor.
